Shirdi, one of the most famous pilgrimage centers near Nashik will shortly be connected by railways. The work on the 18 Km route from Puntambe to Shirdi is taken up at an initial estimate of around Rs 50 crores. The construction of the railway station at Shirdi is already on the drawing board – it will look like the temple of Shirdi.

The Regional Planning Authority, under the able guidance of the Divisional Revenue Commissioner is planning all round development of the district. The earlier plan of covering 238 villages has been extended to cover 1952 villages. As many as 19 growth centers are planned that would help growth in economy. Specific areas have been earmarked for industries and for green zone. An important feature will be the Ring Road connectivity. The plan will be sent to the State Government for approval after which suggestions will be invited from the citizens.

One more winery has emerged in Sinnar - it was inaugurated by Vijaypat Singhania who created a record in flying in a hot air balloon and attaining the maximum altitude. The winery has a present tank capacity of 10,500 liters and this is expected to increase to around 10 lakh liters within the next four years.
A state level convention of the National Congress Party is scheduled for this weekend on the 7th and 8th January.
